How to Get the Labels Off of Stainless Steel
Tearing off stickers is only part of the task.
Once the paper part of the label is removed, you will leave sticky glue.
If the adhesive is left on the surface, it will act to attract dirt and stains.
You can get sticky labels from stainless steel surfaces, but need to use materials and removal techniques that do not scratch the steel.
Pour 1 cup of warm water into a bowl.
Add 1 teaspoon detergent.
Stir the ingredients into a soap solution.
Soak the sponge in the detergent solution.
Squeeze the sponge to remove excess liquid.
Place the warm soap sponge directly on the label glued to the stainless steel.
Place the sponge in the appropriate position for 10 minutes to soften the label and glue.
Loosen the sponge on the label.
Use the credit card edge to scrape as much paper as possible from the stainless steel surface.
Wipe clean cloth with alcohol.
Rub alcohol on the label adhesive to break down the stickiness.
Continue to rub the surface until the adhesive is removed.
Wipe the stainless steel surface with detergent solution.
Rinse the surface with a damp cloth.
Dry with another piece of cloth.
